Establishment of the Zoological Division

BRIM project, the institute of Zoology, CAS, is responsible for establishment of the Zoological Division of Chinese Biodiversity Information Center (CBIC) manage the daily work of the division.

The goal of the division is to enlarge the scale of biodiversity information exchange through collecting, arrangement and dissemination of biodiversity related with zoology and relevant field, improve the cooperation in this field between different Organisation and individuals in or out of China, spread the biodiversity knowledge in public, make decision support for national and local government on scientific basis, promote the biodiversity conservation and sustainable use in China.

The division will collaborate with zoologist and expert in other department in the institute to provide information consultation in many field, for example, scientific data and knowledge of zoology and relevant sciences, information about biodiversity information sources in or out of China, technology of data processing and sharing on biodiversity data management.
